My computer won’t start up past the brand name screen, any ideas?
I have a Toshiba Notebook (NB200) that was working fine up until recently. It started getting stuck on the Toshiba screen (the brand name that pops up before the Windows startup screen) if I tried to turn it on if it had only been off for a little while. And then yesterday I turned it off in the morning and it hasn’t been able to turn on since. It is running Windows XP if that helps… I really don’t know what to do and I have some important info on that computer! Any help?
Option one.
Take this complex computing device to a repair shop (if it is off warranty) or send it back to Toshiba (if it is still on warranty) to have a qualified professional diagnose and repair the issue. If you would ever call a plumber or an electrician, or take your car into a garage to be repaired should a problem arise, this is no different.
Option two.
Purchase an external optical device, and use the Toshiba recovery media you purchased when you called Toshiba tech support, and reinstall Windows back onto the machine, repairing the corrupt operating system.
