Which brand of laptop or notebook computer should I get?
I have decided to purchase a laptop computer, but I would like some opinions from people who already own laptop computers. Which brands out there have you had good luck with?? Which brands have you had the most problems with?? Which brands have the best tech support?? Am I better off buying direct from sony, dell or gateway, for example, than going down to circuit city or best buy?? I would appreciate any help or feedback from experiences you have had out there in the past year. Thank you everyone for all your help!!
I’ve worked on computers for 16 years, and had lots of experience servicing many, many brands.
The absolute best two companies on the planet right now are HP and Dell. I wouldn’t even consider anything else, if I were buying for myself.
Both are excellent products, great prices, and excellent service.
And let me guarantee you, service and support on a notebook is much more critical than on a desktop, every component is proprietary.
Also, strongly consider upgrading your warranty to include accidental damage. Make sure you have a 3 year warranty, because when a notebook goes out of warranty, you really don’t want to pay for repairs, they are more expensive.
