b130 battery 2 b130 battery
Why is my battery light for my Inspiron B130 blinking orange when my labtop is connected to AC power?

I have had my laptop for approximately 1 year.

Please respond with ideas/solutions, do not refer me to Dell.

The battery itself may have gone bad. Try removing the battery completely while it is connected to A/C power. This works on some laptops; I am not sure about yours. Sometimes it will allow you to bypass the battery circuit and run off A/C. According to the following link, a rapidly blinking orange battery light means that the battery itself has suffered “a fatal battery error” which I assume means that it’s kaput.
By the way I would contact Dell and see if it may be one of the recalled batteries.
Also, just because it’s not the answer you would like to hear, don’t blame the messenger. The orange blinking light is a code built into your machine; it’s stating that the battery is dead.

REPLACE THE BATTERY
