I have used the PC operating system forever. Would I be able to quickly learn the use of an Apple computer?

I have heard Apple computers and software are much better then all the PC computers and software. This is especially true, I understand, in graphic uses.

Well, I have only used PC software and the usual operating systems from Microsoft, as well as, the software applications. I feel that the PC and its operating system are much too difficult to use. Some people might not realize it, but Bill Gates did not really invent the computer and the PC operating system. To my knowledge he did modify earlier operating systems and sold IBM on the idea of using his version as the only operating system for IBM personal computers. The rest is history.

So, what do you think? Should I buy an Apple when I buy a new computer or stick with the PC? If I go to Apple will I have to buy all new software for the applications I already have running on my PC?

Thanks, I need good technical advice, not just opinions, although they are welcome too.

I recommend purchasing a Mac and then installing vmware-server on it to run the handfull of PC applications you can’t readily cheaply get for it.

Yes, buy a mac. Better resale value, easy to use, simpler to administrate, etc.

And it will cooperate quite nicely with all your existing PCs – in fact, as you get to know it better, you may find yourself quite disgusted with the clumsyness of the Windows interface.
