How I can get a security suite on a laptop without using Internet?

I bought the laptop my brother it, a Dell Inspiron 600m. Right now I'm looking at the computer security of the family suites. I found that I love, but the only problem is that you can download from your computer I use. Can you download from the family computer and then transfer it to the laptop somehow? Or would it be safe to connect to Internet through the laptop long enough to download security suite?
