Backpack, laptop bag procedure in the airport?
I’ll be flying soon and I wanna bring my laptop (size 15.6). I have a backpack that has laptop pocket, and that is what i will use to carry it around. And it will also give me a little more room to pack the rest of my things (camera, travel size-containers for toiletries etc.).
Is this possible since there are laptop bag procedures when passing through security checks?
Simple, really.
When you get to the check point:
- take the laptop out of the backpack. Put the laptop, by itself, into one of the plastic bins.
- take the zip lock bag of liquid and liquid like items out of your bag and put it into a bin
- take your shoes off and put those into the same bin as the zip lock bag
- take off any coat or outerwear and put that into a bin
- put the backpack on the belt (probably does not need to be in a bin) and let everything go through the x-ray machine.
Reclaim it all on the other side. Done.
I always take a laptop, cell phone, mp3 player, chargers for various things often a digital camera and so on, in my pack when I travel. They have no interest in any of those items – except for the laptop.
While waiting in line, I put my wallet, cell phone, keys, coins and anything else that is metal into a pocket of the pack so I can walk through the metal detector without problems.
